I would really have to say that to remember to cleanse once a day when I was 18 was an accomplishment. I have recently have read more and more articles with more than 100 skin-care gurus and dermatologist telling me that I should double cleanse.
So guess what I have been trialing this skincare and I am now a staunch proponent of this practice in my skincare routine. Which involves - guess what washing your face gently but surely twice in preparation for your next products.
Am I sounding a bit "Extra" - maybe I am but there are plenty of reasons why the pro's and now myself are advising you to double cleanse your skin. Firstly if you are living in a big city, you should really be using the double cleanse technique.
I am not suggesting that you use the same product twice - the key is to use specific cleanser types for different purposes:
The first step is to sweep away makeup. "Centuries ago, the geishas used a double cleanse to unburden the skin at the end of every day". The result is a skin-care ritual that not only safely removes your make up. When I do wear mascara, I also use a Eye make up remover for the more delicate area around your eyes.

Since your skin is acting as a barrier, protecting you from all sorts of gunk in the air throughout your day, please realize that it is important to make sure you wash any traces of makeup or dirt before you hit the sack.
As living in the city your skin does accumulate dirt, debris, sweat, sunscreen, and other environmental pollutants. So then you can purify or really polish your skin so that it is primed and ready to soak up the rest of your products. Remember guys and gals your skincare treatment or moisturizers will not be able to do it best work when applied over layers of debris.
However please remember that not all skin types require you to do this every single day. If you are someone who has sensitive skin, someone who needs to maintain their natural oils. Doing a double cleanse will not be necessary - perhaps only a few times a week based on what your skin can handle.
Second Step Cleansers -
This is where you get really creative and you choose between creamy cleansers for sensitive skin, to exfoliating brightening cleanser for those with sun damage, to a acne wash. A gentle daily exfoliation cleanser as a second step to lift away the dead skin cells and debris to promote your cell turnover. I highly recommend you gently utilizing this cleanser and not to over work or harsh scrubbing which can lead to drying out your skin.
The Milky Sooth Sensitive Skin cleanser is good at supporting your skins health and will leave your skin barrier in tact.
Once your skin is properly cleansed you can begin to add your next layers at night of serums, retinol, vitamin C, and night creams.
